Short row shaping makes the center red and white stripes a quick knit.  Blue edging is worked separately and stitched to center body.  Embroidered stars complete the afghan.

Materials needed:  Large gauge loom with at least 62 pegs (long blue Knifty Knitter was used in sample).  Worsted weight yarn - 750 yards each of red and white; 300 yards of color blue.  Red Heart Soft Yarn in colors white, cherry red, and navy blue were used in sample.  Knitting tool, crochet hook, scissors, tapestry needle

Pattern notes include instructions for working short rows with wrap and turn, chain increase, and chain embroidery.  Knowledge of e-wrap cast on and crochet bind off is needed.
